We would like to gain access to the beautiful project @adambroomberg @artists.allies.hebron presenting phenomena, photos of olive trees in Palestine.
The green olive bracelets cannot be purchased - they can be obtained from us upon presentation of a donation of $10 or more for the project - we have selected them with one of our most beloved stones - raw chrysoprase symbolizing peace of the heart, renewal and hope.
Olive trees in Palestine, as old as 2,000 years old, are a cultural and social anchor for the inhabitants of this country - unfortunately, they are exposed to a cruel fate, which is why, in addition to photographic documentation, the project supports the monitoring and protection of brave witnesses of history such as these twisted refuges.
Last year I had great fun picking olives for a few days, the oil from such hand-picked harvests turns into something extremely valuable, tasted with care and celebrated - it is an even greater treasure for local communities because it is proof of culture, heritage and centuries-old tradition.
Let's think about how we are now looking forward to the first spring leaves - how much peace, comfort and solace they bring in the cyclical nature of the seasons - probably some of you have your own childhood trees or those related to your grandmother or grandfather - I have one of my grandmother's walnut trees and even though it is already owned by other people, I would like it to be eternal - because in the shade of its leaves it carries the echo of the memories of my grandmother who collected nuts with me.
I think the people in Palestine feel the same way, growing up in the shade of these trees and lovingly tasting the olive oil from the annual harvest...
Trees, in the silence of their great wisdom, are like grandparents, generous, kind, gentle and cheerful... let us be kind and cordial to them while they are still there.
